This luxury three-night break will feature a curated curriculum led by our seasoned team of award-winning authors and celebrity ghostwriters who will provide all the insight and inspiration needed to create your very own pageturner of a memoir.
Based at Henley Hall – a Grade II-listed country house in Shropshire with excellent transport links – our small group will have exclusive use of the estate and its glorious grounds.
And with countless quiet spots to sit, think and write, it’s the perfect place to start telling your tale.

THE VENUE

Dating back to the early 1600s and once home to the Wedgewood family, Henley Hall is a sublime country house estate full of charm, beauty and history. Located just two miles from Ludlow in Shropshire, with excellent transport links across the country, the heritage property boasts 12 acres of formal gardens and woodlands dissected by the gently flowing River Ledwyche. Luxury accommodation is offered in the main house as well as in cottages sprinkled throughout the grounds complete with living spaces and kitchen areas. Single, twin and double rooms are available but subject to availability. If you’d like to stay longer, please contact us about reserving at extra night.
Don’t worry about going hungry at the Master Storytellers Memoir Retreat. Expect fine food and delicious conversation with meals prepared by our private chef and served on long communal. Wine is included with dinner and light refreshements (tea, coffee and snacks) will be served during the day in between classes in addition to breakfast, lunch and dinner. We can cater for most allergies and dietary requirements but we must be advised in advance.

A 15% deposit is required to ensure a place. The balance must be paid in full eight weeks prior to the start of the retreat. We accept all major credit and debit cards. All payments are processed via Stripe and 100% safe and secure. Please note card payments incur a 2% processing fee.
Bank transfers are also accepted.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

Guest Cancellations: Full refunds will be given for cancellations made eight weeks or more before the start of the retreat. Refunds of 50% will be made for cancellations made between eight and six weeks of the start and 25% for cancellations made six to four weeks before the start. No refunds will be offered for any cancellations made within four weeks of the start of the retreat.
Cancellations by Us: Should it become necessary to cancel the retreat, full refunds will be given including deposit.
Covid-19 Cancellations: Any persons who must cancel due to contracting Covid-19 will have the opportunity to move their booking to a future retreat without penalty. If this is not possible a refund will be given. Please note: proof in the form of a verified test result will be required.
Date Changes and Postponements: Please contact us if you wish to postpone and join an alternative retreat at a later date. If this is possible, an admin fee will be applied.
Please note: The deposit and processing fee, if applicable, are non-refundable and will be deducted from any refund given unless otherwise stated. Notification of any cancellation must be made in writing.

COVID-19

The retreat will follow all guidelines as outlined and recommended by local authorities. All guests must comply to all, if any, restrictions and instructions that are in place. Tests upon or prior to arrival may be required.

CHECK-IN & CHECK-OUT

Guests are asked to arrive by midday on Day One in order to join the day’s lessons. Activities will also take place on the final day but guests are free to leave at any time the retreat up until 5pm. Please contact us if you require further information on timings.
Additional Nights: Please contact us if you wish to book an additional night at the end of the retreat. Extra fees apply.

TRAVEL & TRANSPORT

The retreat’s venue is served by excellent transport links. The closest station is Ludlow, approximately two miles away. We can arrange a pick-up at extra cost. For those arriving by car, free car parking is available. Average driving times and distances are as follows: from London (three hours, 155 miles), Manchester (2.5 hours, 115 miles), Birmingham (1hr 15 mins, 40 miles) and Cardiff (1hr 45mins, 80 miles).

FOOD & DRINK

The retreat is offered on a full board (breakfast, lunch and dinner) basis. Allergies and dietary requirements must be disclosed in advance. Some drinks at certain meals (including wine at dinner) are included but others are payable at check-out. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be available throughout the retreat.
